Well, We all have finished our first week succesfully (I think so), Now we already have a new knowdlege to put into practise.
Taking this course is really challenging for me!Let me tell you something else about me in order for you to know why.
I work in the morning from 7:00 a.m to 12:40 p.m, then I go to the Central University to work form 1:00 p.m to 3:00 p.m. On Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays I often go straight home to prepare classes for the next day, but on Tuesdays and Thursdays I have classes to get my mastery degree from 5:00 p.m to 9:OO p.m. I am about to finish my first step "diplomado", for getting that degree I have to do a project which is demanding as as well as this course is, so at the beginning of this online course I felt a bit scared because of the time mainly. I was no sure I can do everything at once!!Are any of you facing the same situation like me?
Despite of this fact, this week has been regarding, because of many things. First of all I have met people with different backgrounds and the most important part I have learnt a lot from them!. It has made me realize that teachers no matter where from just want students to be the best and be able to cope with anything.
I also learnt that setting ground rules and rubrics at the very beginning make our classes easier, because students know how they will work and how they will be evaluated, so we will not have future problems.
On the other hand I did not know there were other sites where you can see other people's comments, so working with NICENET was just new for me, but now I get used to work with it I can say it is amazing!
Finally, in my opinion, creating a blog was the most exciting part of this week. I love using blogs, technology is simply magical. I have learnt how to upload videos and pictures and make my blog looks better. As I am just starting the school year (coast regimen)I have not experience blogging with my students yet, but as soon as I can I will try it, and I will share with you how it is working.
So I am so cheery about my week 1 and I feel more relaxed too. I am completely sure next weeks will be as helpful as this one was.
Waiting for week 2!!
Katty
I would like you to comment on the picture I uploaded. What is your two cents?
ReplyDeleteKatty,
ReplyDeleteLovely background music!
WOW! Hectic life! But I think this multi-tasking is a little addictive, isn't it?
The pictures depicts what we're doing at the present phase... shaking hands with technology...
Am I on the right track?
Helô
Dear Helo,
ReplyDeleteYou are absolutely right on what you have commented about the picture. Nowadays human beings need to go along with technology in order to get better in any field, and what is more !WE¡ as teachers.
On the other hand, disagreements among teachers are good because they allow us to grow professionally. In my opinion doing something that involves technology is not an addiction. I am just putting into practice what I am discovering about blogging.
Katty

Hi Katty!
ReplyDeleteI was watching this video:

and thought you might like it, too.
The crazy guy who put all these scenes together is a co-worker, Carlos Gontow.
This is his blog, in Portuguese:

His book, based on the blog, is coming out in June!
Portuguese and Spanish are a little similar so give it a try... :)
Have fun!
